It’s not a get rich quick scheme; however it does help you grow your money at a faster rate than just leaving it in cash or a checking account. There are a few different ways to invest your money so that you can watch it grow. For those of us who have a little bit of money saved up in the bank, but can invest, real estate, CDs and mutual funds are great starting points.
How does a CD work?
A CD is also known as a Certificate of Deposit. CD’s are a pretty good investment option because you don’t have to put much money forward in order to invest and you are guaranteed a certain return rate. When investing in a CD you want to know how much money you would like to invest and the length of time that you would like to invest for, this determines the rate that you will receive. There are generally one, three and five year options when investing in a CD, the longer you let your money sit, the higher the rate of return.
What are Mutual Funds?
Mutual funds are an awesome way to start investing in the stock market if you don’t want to or don’t have the knowledge to pick and choose companies on your own. Mutual funds are basically a pooled amount of money that is invested in bulk and is handled by a mutual funds manager who has the knowledge to pick and choose stocks based on your risk level. Another amazing feature of mutual funds is that you can invest a set amount of money, bi-weekly or monthly without having to pay for the transaction fee.
